 :'( i know my cars 13 years old but while me and a mate were fitting new wishbones we found a hole in the off site strut  :o is this a weak area near side is solid as is the underside the only thing we can think of is that maybe the expansion tank leaked a lot at some time  :-X oh well welding touch it is  :-/

I've not seem on rust particularly badly there...

well its now a 3 inch hole  :o oh well it will just have to be plated over.

You're just recycling, that old fridge was going to landfill, but your are recylcing the metalwork for your car ;)

(does that make Omegas good for the environment ;D)

mines gone 12 years old in feb and has no rust at all on under body,this was common on the carltons but never heard of it on omegas,sounds like you got some work on you're hands :y

the bodys good even the rear archs are just starting to bubble so i was shocked to find the hole i`ll get a pic before its done.

mine has had rust in the usual places like along window bottom seals and rear door archers but all sorted now,but no rust under the car,had carlton, before this one which falled a test on the same thing, you have sad has gone on yours,tester said it was common on carltons to go here had it welded up and it past test and never went there again,on first generation omegas L-M maybe the same but not really heard of it on any up till now :y
