traction control
« on: 25 June 2007, 21:19:07 »

Ok - so this is a reeaal stupid question (feel free to point and laugh), but does the TC light on the dash mean that traction control is on or is it warning that it is turned off?

I only ask cos I just put the car sideways round a wet roundabout - oops, bit of opposite lock going on there!!  Still driving it like a low powered front wheel drive car.

No damage though and definately put a grin on my face :D, but wont be doing that again for a while

TC is on by default, if you switch it off the light will stay on.

Light on means TC is disabled (either you've turned it off, or malfunction), light flashing means its doing something to reduce wheelspin. Off means the system is working, but not detetcting any wheelspin.

TC light on dash comes on if it becomes active becuase it detects slipping of wheels.... and also if you have switched it off with the over-ride button.
