Just bought new toolkit, didnt think about Torx thingys. Till I get some will have to put the throttle body cleaning job on the to-do list for a while along with the oil change.

Nope, it aint happening!  :(

Had a good look at the the plenum removell, and have, at last got the right tools :y

But being a bit of a noob just didnt have the confidence to take the plenum off. :(  Stuff attached to the plenum that I just had no idea about, or what they did, and a bit with a gasket on it I figured best left alone :-/
When I can afford it will see if I pick up a haynes! :)

As Dave said Go for it just take it slowly use digital camera to take pics for reference on reassembly. Leave EGR valve on plenum and disconnect at flexible metal pipe.
You have already removed Idle control valve
That just leaves Throtle and cruise cables, 2x waterpipes on throtle body then multi plug and vac pipe at back of plenum.
Sorry plus 4 x pipes also at back on top on top of plenum.

Really the guide is great just follow slowly andf post here if unsure at any stage.

Best of luck

Leave EGR valve on plenum and disconnect at flexible metal pipe.

I've read other people saying the same thing about the EGR valve and was wondering why this is the recommended way of doing it? I couldn't disconnect mine at the metal pipe so took it off the plenum. Did I do a bad thing?  :-/

Not at all disconecting it at flexi pipe saves buying gasket.
