Reconnecting batttery
« on: 30 June 2007, 11:49:50 »

Last week whilst serviving the car the alarm system started playing up. The battery had got very low and the remote would not silence the alarm. In the end I turned on the ignition and disconnected the battery.
I have since found out about the 15 second rule when disconnecting the battery.

Are there any rules to follow when reconnecting the battery?

Nope, only you'll need to reset windows and sunroof (see posts in maint guides), and put codes back in radio etc...

Alarm sometimes goes off when you reconnect battery, just have the key ready in the ignition and switch on to silence the alarm.
