« on: 11 July 2007, 12:25:11 »

got bored so went and done a paperclip test and its come up with code's 19 and 59

i have a plug unpluged at back of engine which i think is camshaft senser cable but cant find any were for it to plug in to found this when changing plug leads
after changeing plugleads car stall's sometimes on tickover
has any one got pic's of were this senser is and were it plugs to
also noticed rear Multiram is doing nout when reveing engine from enging bay

exhaust manifold is blowing on driver side could this cause code 59

19 = Carnk sensor dying
59 = Rear multiram solenoid High

So check the rear multiram solenoid is connected up and get a new crank sensor fitted.

Your reasonably fotunate as LMF on Bath Street in Market Harborough stock the crank sensors at a good price and is only about 15 minute drive from Kettring now Desborough and Rothwell are bypassed.

The spare lead is probably just the remnants of a previous replacement where they couldn't be bothered to remove the old aprt.

There is a maintenance guide on crank sensor removal, they cost about 35-40 quid.

I suspect you have a faulty multiram solenoid (which is rare), worth changing it to restore the low down torque.

The engine ECU will extinguish the light once the fault is corrected, the code will remain stored for a set number of clean starts and will then clear it self.

Forgetting to plug in rear multiram electrical connector is always my favourite when reassembling  :-[
