Does it smell all the time??? Or just when you boot it???

My last car before this one, when booting it down the motorway, smelt like someone was lighting matches in the back of the car, then when slowing down, it got really smelly, the kids used to hate it, I myself thought it was funny.

I was told by an exhaust co. that it was quite normal and the more they smell, the better they work.

Not much help but it's something... lol.

Then I would say its OK !!!

I was told it was normal, its the chemical transformation, that makes the smell, at higher revs, has more work to do in a shorter time.

Its not nice is it???

Try a low sulphur fuel!

The smell sounds like supermarket petrol

As I have said before, Petrol is Petrol in the same way as Beer is Beer......you get my drift?

All the brands are all called the same and made the same but have slightly different recipes...

There are differences between fuels, a good example was my 2.0CD towing.

I filled up in Tescos, it would hunt between 3rd and 4th all the time, on the return trip I would fill up with Shell and it would stay in top and return better mpg.
