« on: 17 July 2007, 22:07:53 »

hiya people wondering if someone can help i recently bought a 98 3.0 elite auto but i've just noticed when the car warms up the gearbox is less willing to change gear and sometimes engages neutral for a short space of time before really clunking into gear, can someone advise what the problem is?

If you amend your details to give your location I'm sure that someone local would be willing give you a lift .... obviously for the neccessary remunerations...... ie beer tokens! ;))

About £20 - £30 (6 - 8l) for the fluid (Halfords), and £38 delivered for filter and 2 gaskets (JPAT).

You can do it yourself.

My fear is that the thrust washer has disintegrated though....   ....but attempting fluid change is the first thing to try. If you find thrust washer in sump, 'oh shit!'
