More help needed please

Following on from one of my old threads about my engine management light coming on the going off.

Well now the light is on all the time and it wont rev past 4.5k revs,

What could it be this time

Please help

one of the more experiences guys will be along shortly, i cant remember if it is crankshaft or camshaft sensor that causes.

Either way it is a case of do it now before it fails and leaves you stranded

I think the first thing you'll be asked is to action the paper clip test
iaw the following link, and post the results.

The tech 2 and sparks experts can then give you some pointers,
without fishing in the dark.

read codes, 4.5k limit often crank sensor, 4k often cam sensor, but do the paperclip test to confirm...

you aint that far from me so if you get stuck and i can help in anyway give me a shout. are you having trouble starting the car? if not then i'd say cam sensor.

Done the paperclip test and I got code 0340

I'm not having any problems starting the car

Cam sensor!!!!! same as what i was getting, all i'll say is make sure you get genuine sensor, from vx, with wiring loom. easy to change your self, bout an hour including the wiring if you haven't already got modded sensor on your car.

reason i asked if having trouble starting is because thats a common fault when crank sensor going or gone!

Do you know how much (roughly) a cam sensor is from vauxhall

0340 = cam sensor as others have said. Replace and all should be well in the world :)
