It's gotta be the 5.7 V8.......

We've seen LC engined Omega's before, 4 pot turbo just isn;t right for that big Omega chassis.

Before i rack my brain on another engine.

Do you think the 3.2 engine could be a good engine to turbocharge or supercharge if i had a total rebuild with low comp pistons, steel crank, uprated gaskets, cams, valves, head etc?

I just really would prefer to use the original omega engine.

I would be wanting an engine for 400bhp approx , and would probably try and use a 6 speed gearbox from another car if possible.

3.2 Already has a steel crank IIRC.

That's a big hike in power, though, and it won't come cheap. I recall hearing that cooling is a problem on the v6 with even a modest power increase.

It'd almost certainly be more cost effective to buy a new crated LS engine that'll generate that sort of power out of the box.

Aye, a holden/GM/monaro V8 is sounding a little bit tasty  :)  How's about supercharging it though!?!  :D

6-speed is gonna make it the ultimate cruising mile muncher and drag strip extraordinaire  ;D

Thinking about it i might stick with a v6 of some sort. V8 will be too noisy and thirsty.

Never heard a V8 that's too noisy myself  8-)

(includes my mate's 3.5 rover that we ran up for a quick test with no exhaust manifolds)

Oh right! , i always thought they were noisy.

Ok , would consider getting a new ls1 engine with the 6 speed box and do that then.

Going to see if the dash could fit aswell.

Slightly changed my aim now.

I am going to buy a brand new 3.2 v6 from vauxhall (£1800) and either supercharge or turbocharge it.

Spoke to a local performance tuner who said roughly £2000 for a turbo conversion.

So hopefully if i used brand new parts for the whole engine and cooling i should be able to get a 300-400bhp motor that is reliable.

most easy change will be standard factory out GM V8..supercharging or turbocharging will not be long life and will bring many problems with cooling..

and if power is desired forget about the fuel issues
