Poor performance this morning
« on: 14 September 2006, 12:51:45 »

OK, we have identified the cause of the poor performance this morning, and have rectified. Performance should be back to what it was yesterday, possibly still with the slow down for certain ISPs.  MTU currently back to default, we may have to change again at some point over next few days depending on reported speed issues.

The cause was unrelated to the Redhat server that runs the forum.

I would like to sincerely apologise for the problems that todays slow down and outages (it had a reboot, plus apache restarted a few times).

WHat was the problem?
Issue was caused by a client machine accessing another site hosted here taking too much bandwidth (and my upstream is obviously limited)

Blocked that client, then contacted them so they could fix their issue...
