So far we have tried
« on: 03 September 2007, 19:57:33 »

changing all the ht leads , and we have checked for oil in the plug wells there is none yet still the car is holding back at around 50mph. It doesnt have the problem when it is cold but when it has warmed up then it starts with the holding back. Could it possibly be the dis pack as suggested by ronald mcb or could it be something else. We have a dis pack if necessary as we have one from the car we broke recently. Any suggestions form any of you would be welcome Or if any of you are in kent and fancy a trip over to see you are also more than welcome lol.

Have you tried Camshaft sensor, Crankshaft sensor. Sounds like if its holding back could be one of these sensor's.

try changing the dispack, then see if any different. if you've got one already might aswell. just to eliminate it!

Ok bearing in mind the digital display on this thing is missing so many pixels it is unbelievable we can not tell if any error codes are coming up. So we are assuming the crankshaft sensor is by the oil filter and the camshaft sensor under the timing belt cover is this right?. How do we tell if these are faulty with getting the tight git to go out and buy new ones . I tell ya he is so tight he squeaks.

do paperclip test. as long as eml lights up should give codes. post and then can say if any sensor faults. the mid doesn't say whether there are sensor faults. yes sensors are where you said. i always say this if you are going to get cam sensor make sure you get genuine one with modded sensor and wiring loom. <to do paperclip test short pins 4 and 6 on 16 pin connector under steering wheel>

Try the dispack as you have it and the job is easy on the 2.0.

Have you tried changing plugs too?
