Anyone that heard mine at the Not Wales Meet will know how bad it can get. I fear mine may now be past the "two plate" repair as there now is no noise but no restraint either & it was fine a few weeks ago....

Maybe not, but is does protect the metal from the elements, and should hold back any rust forming for a while...

Mine had just the strap, no mechanism. Also the top had been ripped out leaving nothing for the bolt to go through. A replacement mechanism and a reinforcement plate on the outer solved the problem, oh and a new bush.
