The filter under the windscreen is the cabin filter.  The air filter is on the front left hand side of the engine bay  (click link to photo)

Hi Wayne

You will find the Air Filter on the left hand side of the engine bay its on the drivers side at the front on the engine in a black ribbed box. There should be 4 clips that you unhook and that will open the box Filter in inside.

Hope that helps :y

P.S the one you where looking at is the pollan filter.

Stay away from 'oiled' filters, as may cause issues with the MAF sensor later...

Pollen filter is £5 + VAT approx for prefacelifts from dealer if you have access to tradeclub.

As I said previously, you are welcome to pop car up to me (Brackley - about 6m from Jnc 10 of M40), and I can point out whats what on it...

The standard air filter part is very good, as its huge.  K&N's improved bhp claims are unlikely to be correct on the Omega.  Washable types often need regular oiling, and this oil can damage the MAF sensor after a while...

but if you look at the companies claims on the packaging, surely they arent allowed to LIE ?
they would get sued?

In short....I would say yes.

Vx design the paper filters to be bloody huge so thy can go 20K miles betwen changes.....hence they have little restriction.

The only thing you will might with the KandN is that there is more noise.....this might fool you into thinking its faster but, it wont be.

K&N panels are not noisier, I have had no problems with shed oil and I have ran the same filter in 3 cars, wash and reoil every 6 months.

The air box is slightly restrictive to cut down noise. And there has been 3 or so designs of airboxes!!!!

They may make a small improvement - difficult to measure but I feel they flow SLIGHTLY better.

Filter kits replacing the air box don't work!

I have a maxpower funnel filter on mine and i must say it definitely makes a difference 100mph or more (on a private road of course)  My mate said it as i was thinking it (this is definitely pokier) as soon as i floored it at 100mph , might be down to alot of air hitting the front grill at the time
