Fault Codes 0335,0340
« on: 16 September 2007, 09:14:32 »

Morning all.
Just recently my omega has started getting a problem.
Starts from cold no problem and can drive any distance without restarting.
But when i restart and the engine is warm or hot (95) (operating temp i think) the eml light stays on and won't  go out. The car is then in limp mode.
Done a paper clip test and get codes 0335 and 0340.
May sound stupid but what now? Do i just replace the sensors or what?

Would be grateful for advice.
Chris. :y

Not really familiar with those codes - not sure if you have noted them correctly  - maybe check the codes again?

Change the cam sensor!!

Also worth double checking the cambelt timing is spot on (easy on 2.0/2.2 engines)

Thanks for the advice.
Its getting near time for a cambelt change. I will get it all done at the same time i guess.
What do you think im looking at price wise for
Cambelt kit , Water pump and cam sensor to be done? £350 or more?
Thanks.

water pump is only £20 odd on trade and should be done when cam belt is done - your in the area anyway although the pump is not belt driven.

make sure the cambelt is a kit and not just the belt - its the tensioner/rollers that normally fail.

We have an excellent DVD on here - send a pm to Robin Hood for details, after studing that dong the cambelt and water pump yourself is much more managable and you may just get change from £200.

Outwith this you may struggle to get a £350 quote for that work..

I'm sure it can be done.  We have facilities to host, just would need to tie up some procedures...
