ICV buzzing
« on: 20 September 2007, 19:10:31 »

I was just wondering if this is normal.

I was doing some work under the bonnet last weekend and once i had the ignition key turned to number 2 where the dash lights are on but not started and i could hear a buzz of kinds. I quickly tracked it to the ICV by unpluging it and the buz was gone plug it back in and buz was back. 'is this normal ?

The Cavalier 130SR engine and management system that was in my old Manta did exactly the same.
As the Omega system is a development of the Cav. one, I would think this might be normal.

Can't say I've ever noticed a buzz noise from the Idle Valve.  Had a listen this evening, once when cold and again when warm.  Never noticed anything out the normal and no change when its disconnected.   :-/

Perhaps yours is good and mine is the broken one??   :o

Does the knock sound like its coming from under the car....but also happens sometimes when you turn the steering wheel (normlay once when stationary) or hit a bump?

Mine is buzzing from the TB area as well. Doesn't mean it's normal though;-)
