« on: 09 October 2007, 11:54:28 »

ok now on the 2.0 omega (not ours) that we have got up and running for the bloke we know has been running fine all the time we have had it here now he as been driving it the past week and for some reason now when it is idling at traffic lights etc it cuts out. when first started from cold it is no problem at all idles lovely. if he stops the engine then gos back out an hour or so later it keeps cutting out on the idle any ideas as to what may be causing this apart from the idiot driving lol.

Sounds like Idle Air Control Valve to me - common problem.  Can be cleaned out with plenty of carb cleaner, and clean out the breathers at the same time too.  Have a look here:

The symptoms you are describing also indicate the Crank Sensor breaking
down when hot.
Do a paperclip test and check for code 0335. If you get it, replace the crank
sensor.

For a quick check of your breathers/IACV, unclip and disconnect the smallest
breather from the cam cover. Start engine and run at idle. Check for a 'suction'
at the small black breather pipe by placing your thumb on and off the end of it.
If none, remove and unblock the breather jet that the other end of the small
breather pipe connects to just underneath the Throttle Body.
Also clean out the IACV and breather pipes.
