Front quarter bumper trims
« on: 26 October 2007, 13:13:51 »

Have been attempting to repair/remould the front quarter bumper trim on my mega with warm air from airgun..results seem favourable so looks like have saved work /cost in respray...quastion is regarding the chrome strip?
Does anybody know what the part number is for nearside chrome quarter trim?
Also how do these come off and more importantly new ones go back on..is it another total strip out or is there a neat quick fix.
Thanks as always.

When i bought my car, the chrome trim was damaged and hanging out of one side.

It was just stuck on with double sided tape, so i pulled it off, i reshaped it with some michael miers (the long nose pliers), and stuck it back in with some DS tape, is a sod getting it back on without bending it, but with patience not too bad.

If you have done the first bit, you should be ok, and whats more, be saving those valuable ££££'s

Further to your question i don't think they come as a seperate item, may be able to get one from a breakers yard, depending how bad your one is.

Top tip - any black plastic trim that's started to grey - back to black is not too good on VX trim... warm it with a hot air gun and it'll blacken permanently again. :y
