Auto box advice please...
« on: 01 November 2007, 16:09:37 »

Hi, 2002 2.2cd auto saloon 93k miles. The gearchange seems a little jerky from cold. Sometimes "thumps" as the box shifts gear. From cold also sometimes hunts for gears making progress a bit jerky. Things improve once up to temp and at higher speeds it's fine. Is it reasonable to assume a fluid & filters change on the 'box is called for? If so, can anyone recomend a good place to have it done, I'm in Preston area (have heard Lugo's in Trafford Park is good, but not all that handy)
Cheers
Peter

It might just want a simple software update with a TechII.

A fluid and filter change, depending on the miles done and use/abuse the box has had might not be a bad idea....

There are a few posts etc on the site regarding this.....  If you use the 'search' function you should turn something up thats usefull....   :y

A fluid change will do no harm.

Later software on the box may also help.

Is software upgrade readily available, if so is it from dealer only.
