Interior upgrade
« on: 03 November 2007, 02:49:53 »

Hey, fairly new to this site so hello!

I have a 2.0 GLS (R reg) Omega - love it to bits. Prev had a Vectra v6 which I loved and certainly miss the silky v6 engine but an omega is most ecrtainly an upgrade from the veccy!

I want to upgrade the interior the best I can. Have just fitted full leather memory seats.

I want the later model steering wheel - will this fit?
And how easy it is to install climate control? I currently just have aircon button!

And finally - i would love a CID screen!! I expect these to be very hard (& expensive) comeby! But would this fit?

Many Thanks for any advice

Later model steering wheel won't fit pre-facelift model. As for climate control not too sure maybe someone elxe will be along that can answer that one and the CID screen query.

Climate upgrade is a BIG job.....however the likes of electric rear windows is not.

CID screen is not impossible but requries so mods to the electronics

Ok perhaps i will leave it then! I only really wanted the leather anyway!!

Many Thanks all for your response.

Leather memory seats.... I can tell you what I can but I did have help!

Tools - socket set, screw driver & bullet connectors.

Very easy - all seats are a straight swop (keep the bolts from the seats with the seats though)

The plug for the passenger seat was already there - so straight swop and plugged in. Easy peasy.

Rear seats - straight swop. Bottom bit simply clips on and off. And the top part just unscrews.

Drivers seat is a little more complexed - I had electric up and down anyway, so the plug didnt match but there was a live feed. So I think (my mate helped... a lot) all the plugs were cut off and replaced with the bullet connectors then plugged in. Sorted. Memory works fine.

Only problem was that the seat belt tensioner were different so the airbag light is now on... hopefully will get that sorted soon.

Sorry - very vague i know, but I will talk with my mate and try and get a proper how 2 up.

Cheers

If the pretensioners were different, I suspect the seats came from pre mini facelift, and yours was a minifacelift? Hence you no longer have side airbags, hence SRS ECU has a strop.
