Rear Blind
« on: 14 November 2007, 14:13:58 »

Despite numerous wiggles, pushes and hits the rear blind is still not coming up.
When I press the button the dash I hear a click so i guess something is working.
I have read this help guide taking note of the part when you have to remove the 3 torx screws as the blind could unwind:-
http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1152745304
Is there anything else that I need to look out for when attempting to remove?
While sitting in my car boot I see there are screws under the protective surrounding cover around the underside of the blind, would un-doing these screws allow me to view the blind without taking all the back seats out?
EDIT just noticed this looks like an amp and speakers nothing to do with the blind at all as I can see daylight in between that and the sunblind, I dont think this is mentioned in the above help guide.
Thanks in advance.

The blind lives between the rear parcel shelf cover and the actual metal rear parcel shelf, so you'll have to remove the cover to gain access to the blind itself.

hi,
thanks for the reply so that metal cover that is under the parcel shelf is an amp of some kind then and that will have to be removed as well, is there a guide on here somewhere.

If youy remove the tray holding the amp you will find some nuts holdind the shelf in place. remove the nuts and the shelf should come out, but IF the car has at some time had a new rear screen then you might find that the bonding for the screen is stuck to the shelf so you need some help to pull the bugger out. ::)

You can get to the 3 bolts that hold blind to metal shelf with amp in place. The blind comes out with the parcel shelf

The seat backs fold down, you just need to remove the side bits.

Amp can stay put if you're just removing blind

Yoy should pinch the sides of the headrest sleeve & they pop out, if not you can reach up behind from the boot area & try to pinch the sleeve where it sits boot side of the shelf & push them foward towards you  :y

just had a quick look it doesnt look accessible from the boot side.

Sitting on the rear seat I have looked inside the eyelet and there looks like two plastic slots,
These can be pushed using a screwdriver either side of the eyelet inwards but still the eyelet doesnt move, even with a lot of force.
