What should my newly purchased 2.6cdx auto with 138k on the clock realistically be doing for petrol? £20 returns less than 100 miles around town - is that the norm?

Also, the service history shows a cambelt change at 80k, but nothing since. I guess I should be looking into getting it changed, but in the meantime are there any warning signs it could be about to go?

Cheers

You are living on borrowed time on that cambelt .... 40,000 MAX between changes ... when the tensioner bearings fail it will just go with a "bang" probably .. mucho damago ... very expensive.

I only have a 2.5    I average 22-26 mpg solo   18-22 mpg towing ... at todays rate £20 is about 4.5 gallons  so looking at about 100 miles on £20

I get 170 miles on a run out of £20, but about 120 miles combined. 2.5 manual.

These plummet if I'm anything other than careful if I play with the right hand pedal  ::)
