heater problem

beside the hbv is a little round thing where the pipes from the brake servo pass through. when i take the top pipe off there is no suction coming through it, but there is suction going in. if i take both pipes off and join them 2gether i can feel water passing through hbv but still cant get and heat inside car, starting 2 do my box in >:( :'(

the vac layout you told me to look at is for a v6 and i have a 2.0l, i just need to know what that little switch is called so i can replace it if u have any idea. also why does all other hbv's have 3 places for pipes and mine only has 2?
