Replacement is fairly straightforward as it is at the front of the engine at the top end, not sure about cost but I would guess £60-£70 - AA or TD would know...

Back again and none the wiser.....
Car was left with the dealer on monday who ran their tests and felt they now know how to repair....

Kept the car all week waiting for a part an 'ECU control unit or something linked to the gear box'??? Make any sense...

Got the call that we could collect the car late last night or forst thing this morning between 9 & 12....
As we pulled into the dealership at 11:45 got a call from them advising us that the light came on again!!!

So back to square one!!!
Is it true that their computer runs through a sequence of possible problems and they need to try each one individually until the hit the true problem?

Bascially told them we love the car but are not prepared to constantly be on the look out for this problem and there will have to come a point when they will stop repairing the car and start charging us....

Have to speak to sales manager about getting my money back.....
I know its probably going to be a long drawn out battle but dont know what else to do....

Any advice??

Is the dealer a vaux garage? Did they use tech2 (real) to read any fault codes? If so get the codes and post on here someone will be able to translate them

OR

If you still are interested in the car suggest they , at their expense, send the car to a vaux garage for a FULL tech2 readout - preferably with someone who can handle tech2 efficently and a listing from them of the codes and probable/possible causes for reading (I cannot emhasise the importance of using someone with full knowledge of tech2 capability - anyone can read error codes - but translating them along with other codes and order of    is a skill. Again post on here

It's a camsensor problem.

Are you anywhere near Nottingham, or Brackley in Northants.?

MarksDTM (Nottingham) TheBoy (Brackley) both have TechII's.
