crank sensor, sqaure or round?
« on: 05 October 2007, 10:48:01 »

Rang up the dealer about ordering a crank sensor, they don't have years listed for the types.

He asked if its the electrical connector is sqaure or rounded....

Any ideas what it would be for a 1998 year V6?

Its for my Elite which is a 1999 Facelift, but it has the older engine with the standard can type oil filters.

I think the engine is 1997/1998

although check it if you can ( 2 min job) in that area you know so well, above dispack  :o

EDIT just re read - thats what it should be for a 1998 engine, not sure when the change came so i really think you need to check if its 97 engine

Yes, thats the one.

Just cut the plug off and pull out. Then re-route it - you'll never get it to go back the same way!

Oh, and make sure you clear the exhaust.  :y

10 minute job 1 torx bolt at oil filter housing at bottom end and 1 electrical connector at top end.

Oh and as usual, remove skuttle and wipers first.
