posessed sunroof - spooky!!!
« on: 15 December 2007, 13:53:12 »

Hi Guys
just lately, i have been driving along minding my own business when the sunroof starts doing its own thing by opening a bit then closing. The control is in the centre position - ie its not slightly off.
Has anyone else had this or know what it could be?

very unnerving if doing 69.9 MPH - ha ha!

Hi,

Have you tried resetiing the Sun Roof cycle. its simullar to the windows thing after a battery disconect.

Fully open the Sun Roof in one go whilst holding the switch and keep holding the switch for a good five seconds after the motor as stopped, do this again for fully closing, again holding the switch after its closed. do the same for the flip up and flip shut.

May need to try this a couple of time for a complete reset. this sorted all my Sun Roof problems out.

Chris.

I also have that problem.. :(

last winter midnight -15 C open itself and had trouble to close..  >:(

as I understand if you dont use sunroof for a long time this happens..

and happens if outside is cold and you heat inside the car for a while.. Possibly switch problem..

I had the sunroof raise one notch overnight last week during all that rainy weather. Driver's seat was soaked. Had it open once before in the 3 months I've owned the car but thought maybe the switch had been knocked somehow.

Mine does this sometimes, I just turn the switch backwards & forwards a few times and it goes ok for a few weeks so I'm guessing it's just a dirty switch. Spooky when it does it at Mach 1 on the M6!
