Should I fit 3.0 cams in my 2.5?
« on: 02 October 2007, 07:48:24 »

Hi Guys,

I have a known good set of 3.0 cams in my project Elite. If I break it, I was considering keeping the cams, and fitting them into my 2.5 at the next belt change.

I'm just after opinions, I can fit them easy enough - but are the performance gains worth it? I've heard good stories, but I've never experienced it first hand.

Thoughts appreciated :y

About 20bhp and a bit more torque, best performance mod for the money ;)

without a doubt  :y

a cheap mod and up to 20bhp more power, there isn't much that will do that without spending a small fortune......

i had some in my Mk2 cav that we fitted a V6 to...noticable difference

good performance increase apparently, but do you want the performance, or do you want the cash ( by flogging them)

James as you have prob read i have the 3.0 cams in my 2.5 and can only say  i dont regret doing the swop. performace wise it isnt that drastic but does make the engine more willing to go when you do ask it too. the car is more driveable and pulls like a train at lower revs.

Doesn't need belts for another 25000. Stop messing with it.
