Auto Box Lock up clutch

02 Omega Estate 3.2

Does anyone know at what speed the torque converter lock up clutch should operate at please?

In forth, about 50 ish if cruising. Normally with a bit of a thud if you have old software on the gearbox ecu.

Mine locks up at about 45 in 4th.

Depends how much you are accelerating at the time. 45/46 is about the minimum, but as said it depends on how you are accelerating and engine load....

I guess the diff ratio is probably a bit shorter? I suppose the gearbox mapping will be engine-specific too :-/

This ratio though never changing in the diff or gearbox can be affected by tyre size... are your wheels and tyres standard?

Besides, as you never go above 45, yours never gets in to 4th gear ;)

Mine locks up whenever I select the gear and raise the clutch pedal  ;D
