Headlamp washer tube inspection.
« on: 21 December 2007, 11:52:15 »

Hi there.

I used the windscreen/headlamp washer last night and there was a big spray of water onto nearside headlamp. I'm assuming the tube is either split or has become detached, but I'm unsure about the correct way to get at it to check. I had a quick look today but it seems like the headlamp unit will have to come off. I'm no mechanic so I don't want to get myself into a kerfuffle especially in this weather plus I'll need the car later. Any advice welcome. TIA, Andrew

Hi Andrew seems like normal operation to me, when you use the washers the headlight ones pop out about 2 inches & spray the lens but if you want to pull them apart grab the washer & gently pull it towards you, hopefully all will be revealed  :y

Hi there. Sorry for the late reply and thanks for the advice. I found the problem. One of the small inserts into the spray unit has fallen out or been removed, sending a waterfall of water all over the bonnet. I'll have to plug it for now til I can replace it.
