Vauxhall's own Semi Synthetic is voted The Best on here plus it isn't to dear either, especially if you have a trade club card (TC)....
I change my oil every 3,500 miles  :y

Yep, Vauxhall's own-brand GM 10W-40 semi-synthetic is best suited for this engine and modestly priced.

At £8 for 5L of GM's finest, its good value for money, and regarded as very good oil.

I do oil changes on my 2.2 for less than £10 with geniune GM oil and filter!

I was using Mobil-1 0W-40 for the last few changes, and strangely found that it created more may then Vx 10W-40, so i am now back on Vx. This is not to say that there are no other quality oils that will do for the Omega, so you may be fine with Millers, but the point is that Vx 10W-40 is the safe bet here as it is cheap and known to work well with these engines.

The mayo that appears on the filler cap after short journeys will also find its way into the engine breathers and will block them, resulting in cam cover gasket failure. A combination of good oil, frequent changes, and annual cleaning of the breathers should keep the cam cover gaskets in good shape for the long run.
