Door locking problem
« on: 12 January 2008, 17:18:10 »

Hi,
The rear offside passenger door lock has started to play up. It will only lock when either the remote lock button is pressed twice or the key in the drivers door lock is turned to left twice. All the others will lock with just the one press or turn.  :(

Could it be that the central locking system needs to be synchronised or summink? :-?

Thx

Sounds like the door-lock motor is on its way out....

You can try removing the lock and lubricating all the pivot points, plus put some silicone spray lube on the button where it slides in the door lining. This sometimes buys a little time.

If you are OK with a soldering iron then lever the cover off the lock motor and replace the micro switches as its these that fail, not the electric motor. Otherwise look out for a replacement motor.
