Head Gasket?
« on: 18 January 2008, 21:36:49 »

I have got a new radiator in the car but now it is splitting coolant/water out the exhaust and it bubbles in the coolant tank as you add water......I think its going to be a head gasket job as after a few mins I get the coolant level warning on the dash.
Quotes I have had have been down right scary but as I am not hughly mechcanically minded or have the tools, I am thinking is this going to be the killer blow  :'(

First off.......start the engine from cold with the filler cap removed and teh heater on max Hot.......top the level up as the temp rises.

Its important to make sure all the air is out of the system before condeming anything!

I will give it a try, there is a busted "heater" hose that leaks onto the radiator when using the heater, but I think the real clue is the gallon of water getting pissed out of the exhaust..........
What worries me the most is how the local mechanic's are all rubbing their hands with glee or running for the hills
