Hi Mate

Bloody vauxhall shocks!!

I can get it down to two numbers. either 90542942 @ £45.85 each

or 72119086 @ 42.86 each, both + VAT

They are T/c Prices as well

The only way i cam sort out which is which is from an ID code off the old shock, any chance of getting it at all

Cheers

I'm in need of a pair of 1998 MV6 Estate autolevellers (I do a lot of hauling of random stuff and find it invaluable) for mine....
Any Ideas?
Cheers,
Edwin

Prefacelift MV6 shocks aren't on TC (or weren't last year, still waiting for this years book).

I'll have a peek at EPC myself later on (on other laptop) :y

I gave dealer ident code when I did the fronts, but am certain they supplied std shocks rather than MV6 ones, as the front seems high to me.  I'll lower the front on the springs though.

I could ask my colleague as he’s selling Opel/Vx parts in Poland. I bought two Bilstein front shock absorbers for ca 36-40 pounds/each.

Ok.
I have more answers.
Rear shock absorbers for MV6 (without NIVO):
Bilsterin - £34/pc
Magneti Marelli - £20
Delphi (not recommended though, many warranty claims) - £21
SLR - £25
Sachs & Monroe - £43 (same quality as Bilstein but more expensiv)

All of these are oil-gas ones. Prices include VAT, but don’t include delivery. I will be receiving one parcel from Poland, and can send it with my parcel (1£/1kg)
I don’t get any “shares” from these prices.

On another note, I am not too familair with the MV6 suspension setup, but my understanding is that the dampers do not determine height, the springs do.... the dampers simply acommodate the springs. So it would seem that the dampers are the same height for the lower MV6 and for the standard car, though the MV6 may be stiffer...

Prefacelift MV6 uses same springs as rest of range, but is lowered via shorter shocks.

TB, I know you have an MV6 and I don't, but I have doubts about that..... I always knew that the shocks do not affect the ride height, only the springs do.... indeed this is how I lowered my Astra at the time, standard shocks but shorter springs.

Trust me, the prefacelift MV6 springs are the same for other models, lowering all done on the shocks.

Not sure about facelift models, as never really bothered to investigate.
