Thermostat Job!
« on: 17 February 2008, 13:26:41 »

Hi. Can anyone tell me how long it takes to replace the thermostat on a 2.5 V6?

I'm trying to get quotes so it will help if I know.

Thanks a lot. :y

I reckon half a day if it goes well, garage times may be less.

Yes, two hours.

The official Gm figure is 2.1 hours.

Well looks like i'm about to loose 2.1 hours very soon then.  The temp meter takes about 10 miles to lift off the bottom and only realy lifts to 85 or so deg's when sat in traffic, so i assume that i need to replace the thermostat.

I'd be interested to know how much a garage would cost for such a job though...

Cheers

Not sure you need to have a look mate, on a V6 you need to remove the Plenum, and inlet manifold. Then apparently the thermostat can be a little fiddley :y
