What if they cut the plastic tubing and stick it together with superglue  

Padlock + cable + bracket = more than a new one on Ebay.

I do need a Carver drain plug if you come across any Pikey's when doing your trials

Well the Whale is £40, last one I watched on Ebay went for about £42 second hand, I reckon I could sell with lock for 20 - 25 depending on Izzunaz rates
