Summer's come early!!
« on: 22 February 2008, 11:04:02 »

Driving to work this morning glanced at MID and Outside Temp was reading 20 and gradually moved up to 22.5. Now I know it's a bit milder at the moment but I don't think it's being entirely truthful!! ::)

I know the previous owner (Big Rod) had a small issue with a bad connection somewhere near the sensor. Could this be the same or is the sensor cream crackered?

But of course. Wasn't sure if it was going to be needed with a cafe just across the road but a few people have asked so it's coming. :y Gives me something to do instead of getting in the way of you tech's. ;)

Stinky car on the way home again :'(

Noticed the same thing Wednesday evening after scrapping the ice of my car to go fencing, the outside temp was reading 9 degrees.

Just wondered if this reading is used buy the ECU to vary petrol/air mixture at all?

No it uses air temp on intake on earlier V6s, and purely the MAF on DBW V6

As a matter of interest, would the outside temp sensor effect the heating inside the car? Mine's normally in the Auto and Eco mode but it seemed noticeably cooler this morning.
