How am I meant to change leads??
« on: 27 February 2008, 13:43:19 »

Just begun to change leads but, I can't even see the dis pack. I can get a hand to it but not sure how I am meant to get the new leads on in the right order without being able to see and only just feel.

Got scuttle off but doesn't give much more access.
Am I missing something?

Case of just feeling about...

Order for leads is:

BULKHEAD
5...6
3...4
1...2
RADIATOR

5...3...1
DIS PACK
2...6...4

The DIS pack is mounted horizontally and just to the right of the rear multiram.
BE VERY CAREFUL YOU DO NOT UNPLUG ANY VACUUM PIPES.

Thanks.
Looking at the dis pack diagram, mine appears to be vertical. Is this likely or am I feeling wrong lol. If it is vertical then I presume I just rotate your diagram?

Hi
I wonder, is it possible to just change one lead at a time, that way you should not get them mixed up.

Regards

Thought of that but the leads are sitting in a lead cover, so I cant feel my way from one end to the other directly  :-[

Feeling the dis pack, from top to bottom appears to be 2 leads across and 3 leads top to bottom.

Early DIS packs are indeed vertical.

Much easier with the plenum out!

Unfortunately a lot of my tools are not with me, so plenum out would be a pain right now.
Would I be correct in rotating the dis pack diagram and do a bank at a time?

BULKHEAD
5...6
3...4
1...2
RADIATOR

DISPACK
1...4
3...6
5...2

Would this be correct?

Scuttle off and change one lead at a time, I started with the right-hand bank 2-4-6 (hardest first) also get as much light on the subject as possible, the rest is by feel. Great feeling of satisfaction when it's finished (took about 1 1/2 hours), you will also require at least 2 packets of 'Bandaids'.  :y
