Coolant temperature
« on: 10 March 2008, 15:10:20 »

I just got my Opelscanner today. Seems to be working great!
I was wondering about the coolant temperature reading. The Engine ECU seems to think its 60-62 degrees C when dash meter is at 90-95C.
I would think the ECU value should be correct?
Would this indicate that someone has installed a "tuning-resistor", or is the temp sensor just faulty?
I was able to change the MID language also, but not change the engine type, I guess that needs a eeprom flash, and I dont have a file to flash...
Engine type is set to 021 manual, should be 020 auto.

The dash and engine should be similarish, so you have an issue there. Could well be a resistor, or a failing sensor.

The MID is flashable with a real Tech2, I'm surprised the Opelscanner can't do it :(

There was a Eeprom output, and some hex numbers...
But the "load" button was greyed out, maybe it needs the "advanced" version of the software to be able to flash it.
Anyway i dont have any files to flash it with...

Ah yes, I think opelscanner comes in 2 versions - a basic and an advanced version.

TheBoy, would you happen to know anyone who has access to such flash files? Or can the file be downloaded from another Omega and flashed to this one? If the engine and transmission is the same of course...
