Central locking issues
« on: 11 March 2008, 13:31:02 »

Just noticed that my passenger door does not always lock properly. The other three pillars go down normally, but the passenger one seems to just move slightly. Sometimes it will unlock once depressed, but other times it won't.

Any ideas?

This must be a common problem as my 98 elite does this too but only on the 2 front doors and i've heard of others on this forum too  :-/

I was told that the grease in the actuator inside the door hardens up and stops or slows the door rod moving up and down, this is made worst by cold weather. A quick fix to try is take the door card off and squirt WD40 into the actuator and door mechs. I did this on my omega it took a couple of hours to soak in but seems to be working fine now  :y
