satnav wont calculate

hi trying my satnav on a vauxall omega elite 3.5 wont calculate bought a navteq map cd loaded it on my map screen appears blank but has the arrow i dont know what is wrong anybody know the system or what type of satelite its using thanks

Hi Ron, not sure about satnav although I thought the Carins built in sat nav needed the Philips satnav software?? Is your engine size meant to say 2.5 or 3.0 as there are no 3.5 Omega engines...what year is it?

I didn't know they ever made a 3.5! not that it should affect the operation of your SatNav.

I'm not clear here, are you saying that you get no map picture?

sorry it is a 3.2 yes get a greenish map with a pointer on thats all no treets or roads when i put an address in it then say activate,it says cant calculate then says satnav inactive

Check the CD .. is it reasonably good condition ?? Mine had problems reading the disc, gave similar problems. I copied the disc on the computer at a very slow speed, using verification technology, the re-done disc works fine ..

well its a brand new disk but will try it on the computer make another copy thanks

If its a brand new disc .. are you sure its the right one There are several different versions going around ......

i did order from vauxall dealer via make and model they said navteq thanks
