Heater matrix / FAO JamesV6

Does anyone remember "BASSV6?" - he deals in Omega's on eBay.

Not sure how true this is, but he once told me that he's found a dead easy way of changing the matrix - simply by breaking off a totally inconspicuious bit of trim under the dash.

Bit of a cowboy method, and not one I've tried... but thought it may be worth a mention..

I'll have to have a go at doing this job by the book... I've not done it yet...

Any more info on this bodge-tastic fix ?

heater matrix sits just above center consol behind radio if trim on top of it is broken and bent back you can see heater matrix and it can be undone and removed think i remember that flow + return pipes are held in place by a plate clamp but just pull out of matrix when clamp removed and pipes have o ring seals done it on my mates could hardly notice broken trim when it was glued back in place.

So if I pull out the Radio and wood trim/heater controls so I can see the heater box, there is a small square area in the center of it that has 2 small spring clips holding it down, I assume this is what I pull back ?

no if you look up on the side of the pedles just above the center consol you will see where the heater pipes enter the matrix an can work out how much trim you need to bend back you donot need to take out the radio
