There is and the difference is the internal shutters behind the ball lense.

hi you should be able to tell what direction they are pointing by shining them against a wall or somthing at night,

for RHD they should bear to the left

for adjustment, i think there is a adjustment screw behind the unit, unless theres a swich inside :-? not sure

to be 100% ,you could get it check with a beam setter at a local garage.

Not easy to tell unless you can turn them on and check the beam pattern, if you take them apart you will find the ball lense assembly behind the reflector and behind it is the shutter.

The LHD ones have the shutter on the opposite side so the dip beam pattern is on the opposite side of the road.

You could change them if you get some ball lenses from a UK headlight and fitted them in

A guy I sold some projectors to few months back is saying they just failed his car on its MOT because the projectors I sold him are LHD...they came off a UK car...might just get the adjusters out of these, put them in the broken unit I have and voila...uk lights :) But a bit of a pain in the backside!!

If they were off a UK spec car then they should be RHD spec lamps. Did it fail on beam pattern? If so check that the beam deflector levers are in the correct position, they may be in the 'UK car abroad' position.

All the projector style lamps have a lever which stops the light kicking up at the left for driving on the continent.

This is not the same as a true continental lamp where the light should kick up to the right....

I have projector headlghts on my car and have them set for "continental driving" . From memory one lever is UP and the other is DOWN. If you have a handbook I believe that it tells you somewhere.

Mine have passed the Spanish MOT equivalent twice now.

There is a lowering of the effectiveness of the lights by using the levers. Something to do with symetrical and asymetrical patterns. Personally I don't consider it warrants changing them for original spec LHD units. I guess if you did a lot of night driving oin unfamiliar roads at speed then it may be worthwhile.

I had to fit some LHD projectors to pass my BFG 'MOT', they were the Hella type, they do not adjust for the UK but they were only 100 quid (without the tax of course  :y)
