Help and advice please :(
« on: 01 April 2008, 17:13:28 »

Seem's like I'm only posting problems up here but I'm afraid that's all I've had lately  ::)

Can anyone please point me in the direction of a how to or tell me how to change "fuel return pipes/bleed pipes or leaking injector seals" as I'm being quoted a lot of money to do this and it may not cure my air leak/starting problems  >:(

Cheers,

Mark

Not familair with 2.2DTi, but will be rubber pipes between the injectors.  I think the seal is part of injector, but dont quote me.

Do you have trouble starting when parked uphill or anywhere?
My Vectra 2.0dti had the same problem and it was the leak off pipes which run from injector to injector and then down to the fuel pump. When they age a small amount of air enters the system and pushes the fuel back to the tank making it a pig to start as you are pumping fuel from the rear of the car and bleeding the air out at the same time.

If it's leak off pipes, which it sounds like, then they are easy to do! My astra used to go through them so often i kept a spare kit in the car! Once you Can see the injectors just run it and you'll see them leaking! Buy a kit, cut to length and replace. You may as well do them all while you're there.

Yes mate uphill or even on a slight incline. I moved over 1 carparking space at work the other day and it wouldn't start on the evening   :o
