Snap , was actually just looking at that on google. I bet that would be very fast when tuned. I wonder how much i could get an engine for?

A VXR engine tuned (superchip for £599) , would push out 297bhp and an extra 68Ibft of torque. That should be plenty!

lol , because i like omegas , and if i was going to spend 20k on a car it would be a late mv6 for 4k and 16k on getting it unique.

Yeah spose.

I think the best way is to stick with vauxhall engines , that way it shouldnt be so hard for wiring etc

Really dont know if the c20let would be as nice to drive as the v6?

Ultimately the v6 would be the engine to turbo but like i said before i think they are a weak engine , and the cooling is a bad point on em.

Matt

v8 will be a good fit but fuel bills will fly up (+ need a new gearbox) . Also any engine more than 300 Hp will drink up fuel.
But I dont think performance cars like EVOS or Subarus consume less (even they are lightweight)..
And from experience any modded car will consume more fuel than an equivalent power original car.
And in my idea any car powered in these range will not be practical for everyday usage..

C20LET is not to hard to fit, its been done before.

V6 is strong but, as with any engine with serious power increases, it needs some strengthening (rods and cooling being the main ones, bottom end is already strong) plus if you were to blow it you would need to fit lower compression pistons any way.

Mark,

So would you say the c20let tuned to about 300bhp and 300Ibft would feel as gutsy as the v6?  (should feel a hell of alot more really shouldnt it)

Trouble is that turbo's aren't a very smooth power delivery across the rev range, other manufacturers have tried to address the problem with twin 'staged' turbo's.

Having 300 BHP is all well and good but at what rev range? IMHO it wouldn't be very nice driving a big tank of a car like an Omega with your foot flat on the floor with a 16V Turbo screaming it's valves off in the hope you might get 300BHP at 5,500 revs.....

Just my opinion.

Very true. Build a LET with MORE bhp and a better turbo cos the KKK is crap IMO. You'll definitely feel the lag though no matter what turbo you use.
Think how the Calibra feels off boost, it will be worse in the Omega due to it's weight hence why VX never made a Omega LET.  :y

How viable would a c20let in an omega be?

I know people say keep the v6 as its got grunt , but mine is a 2.5v6 and feels grunty with onlt 167 Ibft of torque. I know of an astra gsi running 305bhp with 321 Ibft of torque.

Surely this would be faster and more grunty.

I know people say until the turbo kicks in its flat but if im honest so is mine especially in a high gear until it gets past 3000rpm

Any Ideas?
