Simtek Codes 2.0L
« on: 08 April 2008, 15:46:28 »

Hi all...
Having just started my miggy after changing the crank sensor (vx part) I am now getting 3 codes up on the paperclip test.

0505 idle air control voltage low/high

0340 Camshaft Sensor incorrect signal

1230 Power supply relay secondry circut voltage low.

Now she won't start at all.

Can anyone tell me whether the fault 1230 is causing the other codes to come up. It seems to be related to me.

Also where abouts is the power supply relay so as I can replace it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :y

If it's a 2 litre more likely to be the camshaft sensor that is the problem.

The 0340 Camshaft Sensor is the one that would worry me ... but I've got a V6 so it may be different ...  :)

If it's a new sensor and you're competent enough to DIY, then have a look and see if it's dirty.  I fixed an array of fault codes by simply cleaning the camshaft sensor (the metal bit in front of the cams not the wire plug).
