Not sure about brakes but sounds like possible air trapped if the pedal is hard to push down??

Stereo is in safe mode...battery probably been disconnected at some point...you need to enter the stereo code, you will also need to enter the cd changer code too...is it a 700 or 800 head unit?

Traffic master (if you have the subscription) just tells you of impending traffic jams, gives you a message as your approaching the area of conjection to give you a chance to go a different way...

the omega brakes arnt the best but i find the inital braking power isnt that bad, however the brake fade it terrible! thats prob more down to cheap pads.

A good upgrade would the the pontiac GTO Brakes, 04 brakes bolt straight on, 05/06 would need some mods and prob bigger wheels

Brakes - I have a 3.0 Facelift Elite and prior to that had a mini facelift 2.5CDX. Both had perfectly acceptable brakes, its a heavy car and I've never had any problems stopping quickly and in control. You must have genuine vauxhall pads fitted, the pattern ones are crap. But it sounds more like you have air in the system. If the pedal is hard then the assistance isnt working.

Stereo - if you have a phone IIRC thats a CCR700 (or something liek that) . You will  probably have a CD changer in the boot. You will need codes for both. You may be lucky if you dont have the code - when mine was needed I called the original supplying dealer and the code for the head unit was still on their system. A few months later I needed the code for the CD but when I called them my car had gone past some kind of age limit and they had wiped all the codes grrr

If it has a phone built in then it wont be Bose (I stand to be corrected here) I think the bose needs a different head unit. My 2.5 CDX had the phone but no bose. My Elite has the bose but no phone.

My brakes on both mine are spot on. If you have hard pedal and little stopping power, I would check for seized calipers.  Don't suffer with fading either (one side of MK to other would begin to make them fade), I run genuine GM parts, and GM fluid, bled properly.

CCRT700 can be programmed for Bose or Non Bose.

CD Safe menas the CD player needs code entering.

Hard pedal, very little travel? Could be there is no vacuum getting to the servo....check for a disconnected vacuum pipe or even a pipe which has been broken and then blanked off.

The CD unit has its own code. don't enter the wrong code too many times or you'll have to send to Dave DND to sort out.  :y

Hard pedal sounds like lack of vacuum, one common fault is for the vac pipe to wear through just after the right angle bend connector to the plenum chamber, the pipe rubs against the A/C pipe, usually because the pipe clip goes missing.

It wont ask for the code, there is a sequence to do to get the stereo to ask for the code...its like getting the stereo code up (pressing AS) but a different button...

I agree... Vacuum fault. Air in the system would give a spongey pedal. My brakes seemed a little poor, with quite a bit of pedal travel. Found out why yesterday when I hit metal on the rear in Central London!!  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Thankfully with so little of the braking being done by the rears I managed to get home and have fitted QH pads all round today. Initial reports are very good, pedal feels much better, as expected, and brakes seem fantastic!! Obviously I've not given them the full stamp treatment as they are just bedding in  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Wouldn't want to glaze them at this early stage!!   ::) ::) ::) ::)

As for the stereo, if you can't get your CD changer to work I'll happily take the magazine off your hands!!  ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) Mine is missing but seems to be recognised!! Who was it who had a Blaupunkt 6 disc Magazine spare? I seem to have deleted your PM!!!!  ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)
