When I run my 2.2 on LPG it occasionally stalls when pulling away.
Goes fine on petrol.

Any ideas?

Vacuum hose off, filter dirty, water too cold

All the pipes seem to be ok.
The filter is ok.
Happens when it is hot as well as cold.

It only happens on LPG and even then not all the time.

If I blip the throttle from tickover in neutral it starts to rev but when it hits 1000 it dies and if I quickly release the throttle it doesn't stall, if I keep on the throttle the engine cuts out

It was already fitted when I bought the car so don't know much about the system.
There is a Bigas unit that I can see if that helps.

If you don't have the software you can adjust the vapouriser idle screw and see if that helps.  There will be a bolt sticking out the side of it - just screw it in or out to richen or weaken the mixture.   Don't go too far either way just so you know where it was originally.

I don't know how fine the adjustment is so I adjusted it 1/4 turn anti clockwise and took it for a run - eventually it stalled again (it is intermittent) so I tried 1/4 turn clockwise from the original position and it was ok during a short run. I'll update again after a longer run tomorrow.

Anyone know how fine the adjustment on this screw is?
Should I go further than 1/4 turn?

Turn it while idling (if you can get it to idle without stalling) and you should here the engine revs increasing.  Don't go so far that your idle speed will be too high.  I'd increase it until it stops stalling, then drive it around for 5 miles or so and see if there is an improvement.  

I would also advise cleaning the throttle body, it's surrounding breather pipes and the idle control valve.  New air filter would be high on the list as well.  All these should decrease the chance of it stalling and won't hurt your pocket.

adjusted it anti clockwise and it started running rougher so adjusted a couple of turns clockwise - it ran better but the revs didn't increase though.
Didn't stall today but it was intermittent so I'll run for a couple more days before I declare it fixed.

Sounds more like an air/vacuum leak to me... I wouldn't advise too much random fiddling with mixture controls as this is unlikely to cure the problem on a multi-point system.

The problem is still there so the adjustment didn't fix it.

Can't see any obvious problem with the air/vac system. How do I look for the leak?

That screw youve been turning adjusts the pressure of the lpg......so imo id put it back to where it was....coz you be using far too much lpg........or less and causing more probs.

Its a bit of an odd problem.......

My advice would be to pop it round to Dieselec Gas and Go on Station Industrial.

Their pretty friendly in there......if its anything apart from a romano sytem they probably wont want to look at it........but will offer advice

Oh, and the Saab didn't use a Romano system......they were still happy to look at it and sort out the probs.
