Knock from back end

Hi Folks,Has anybody experenced a knock from the back end,wnen going over traffic calming humps,I,ve have my 2Ltr GLS Omega 2000 model for about 12 months and has always been smooth and quiet over any bump,I,m sure it is from the back end,I,ve haven,t got access to a ramp but i wouldn,t know what l was looking for to be truthful,i thought at first it was something lose in the boot.but i checked that,anybody any ideas on this.

I would start by checking the rubbers hold the exhaust, if one has perished the exhaust will move about alot more than normal.

Thanks for the fast reply ,i did think exhaust and obviously a probability,I did try seeing if it was unusually lose by checking any movement at the tailpipe end but it seemed ok,but it is worth investigating further on that point,thanks again,

Shock Absorbers?  I recently had a knocking from the rear, from one side in particular.  Stick your hand behind the wheel and feel for where the shock meets the trailing arm - if it's covered in brown fluid then you may have a shock on the way out...
