It is a 3 litre, but he says it has had a police spec engine fitted to it at a later date   :-/
No such thing, just a myth the same as police spec Omegas.

There are the rarest of rare 3.6 ones which were a conversion carried out by some dealers.....I think hes talking cobblers.

Acutally the rarest of the rare are the 4.0 24v Senators.....

There are just 2,  4.0 24v Senators in the UK.
These were only ever done as Irmscher specials in Europe with a hefty price tag.

Power was upped from the standard 204bhp/199lb/ft to approx 280bhp and 260lb/ft.

There were some 3.0 12v engines modified to 3.6, also done by Irmscher. These were most desirable in the Opel Monza. As Mark says, very very rare.

3.2 litre... load of twaddle from some who does not know the cars.

okay, now being devils advocate......

Isnt it possible he doesnt know what he is talking about but it still has a 3.2 engine.....perhaps an unofficial swap by a garage or private owner from a 3.2 omega. Would an omega lump fit in a senny... :-/

Not agreeing or disagreeing just looking for a way that both could be right, though goodness knows why it would be done...

Maybe worth getting engine number.....to see what you can find out about it.....presumably Irmscher kept records of engines they modified  :-/

A lot of effort for a car that is 99.9% certain of being a 3.0 litre.

Asked him again today and he still says its a 3.2 which has now also been chipped  ::)  I aked him if the engine that had been fitted was a 12 or 24 valve, oh no he said its a six cylinder  :o So he obviously doesn't know what he is talking about  :-/ Regardless of what it is i am going to have it if all the paperwork ties up because the bodywork is in very good condition, just some attention to the rear arches required. As far as i'm concerned it is a 1990 3.0 litre 12 valve manual  :y
