Once upon a time a young boy of 19 decided that an insurance premium of £1500 TPFT was a bargain when it meant he could drive a 3 litre rear drive car and promptly went off to buy the first MV6 that had all the trimmings that he could find....
Some time later, a 20 year old man wished he had looked the car over in more detail first.
Soon after buying the car I noticed that the steering would pull to the left quite a lot. At my MOT I was advise that there was excessive play in my steering and my near side track rod end got replaced for me. A few thousand miles later I noticed that both my front tyres were completely bald.
I had them replaced in a hurry and got the company to do my tracking too.
4000 miles later the 2 new front tyres were both equally nackered. but on the outside edge only. which was really really irritating becuase there was 7mm of good tread on one side of the tyres and 1mm of treat on the outside grrr.
I have now had new tyres fitted to the front AGAIN and have been to several garages for advise. My tyre shop say do the camber, the garage who do camber say I need a steering idler kit, my vauxhall parts specialists say they dont know what an idler kit is but they sell 30 to 40 omega steering arms a month so maybe I should replace that.
That is my story so far. Anyone care to help me write the conclusion?
Cheers!!
Ben
