Just completed Paper Clip test...Can you help me?
« on: 06 May 2008, 20:34:39 »

Just completed the test and the codes that came up were
74 then 73,both came up when engine running and not running.

73   Mass Air Flow Sensor Voltage Low
74   Mass Air Flow Sensor Voltage High
Would I be correct in guessing I need a new Mass Air Flow Sensor?

It tends to sudgest that.....do check the plug and cable assembly first as this will be the first REAL V6 MAF failure I have seen.

I just had a good look....and it seems the whole air system has come away from it's mounts and is rattling around...is there any way to re mount it?
The rubber mounts are broke...! :(

Normally, if the bottom peg is in place in the chassis rail then the plenum mounts and airbox mount are enough to secure it.

Get new ones from Vx or use a nut and bolt with a rubber washer in between but this is very fiddly.

I can lift it up and pull it about....it's just sitting in the holes....would this have an effect on the problems I am having?

Have you checked the clips on the MAF and its conections, also whilst you are there check that all the vac lines are still connected.

When I am driving...and mostly I drive on Duel Carrageways so it's nice and smooth...it just judders and then EML comes on and goes off after 30 - 40 seconds. Then when it warms up sometimes it won't idle when I stop in traffic.
